Without weighing, a fattening batch is managed by eyesight and hope. Weekly weights show which Mecheri lambs are converting feed, which animals are stuck, and which ones should be sold early.
What to record weekly

How to grade
- A grade: gaining well, active, clean dung, close to sale weight.
- B grade: normal growers; continue ration and monitor.
- C grade: slow gain, health doubt, bullied, or poor frame. Separate and decide treatment or early sale.
Why this improves profit
Fast growers may be sold as soon as they hit buyer weight. Slow growers should not silently eat the same feed forever. Grading helps you stop feeding losses and plan sale lots by weight.
Recommendation: weigh Mecheri batches every week or at least every 15 days. The most profitable farms do not wait until sale day to discover which animals performed.
